Scientific name: Carterocephalus silvicolus

This butterfly is found in north-eastern Europe, as far north as the Arctic Circle.  It can be quite abundant and sometimes flies with its cousin the Chequered Skipper (Carterocephalus palaemon).  Principally a lowland species, it flies in late Spring/early Summer.
