Wiltshire: Work Party
Friday 13th January 2017: 11am
West Yatton Down, north-west of Chippenham

Join the Wiltshire Branch on a scrub clearance day at West Yatton Down Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). These work parties are held on the second Friday of the month in autumn and winter, to conserve the environment on this beautiful site which supports nine species of orchid and more than thirty species of butterfly.

Volunteers should wrap up warm; bring a picnic lunch or flask of tea if you would like to do a further hour or so in the afternoon.

We have purchased some fabulous tools call Tree Poppers; they remove the roots too, and you’ll love them.

Individuals with a chainsaw qualification welcome.

Meet at 11am, parking along the road at the Long Dean Y fork, on the side of the road from West Yatton to Castle Combe, Grid ref: ST851759, nearest postcode SN14 7EX.

For more information, or if you would like to attend, please contact the Leaders:  Maurice Avent & Alan Needham: 01249-713218.
