This course will consist of illustrated talks with colour slides to show the special species found in the Scottish Highlands, their unique habitats and ecology.
There will be daytime field visits to a variety of habitats to observe butterflies such as the Scotch Argus and moths such as the Chevron and Northern Spinach.
Tutor: David Brown is the Warwickshire County Recorder for Lepidoptera and the author of The Larger Moths of Warwickshire. He has led courses at FSC Centres over a number of years. A lecturer at Birmingham and Warwick Universities Extramural and Open Studies departments for the past 20 years, he is an active field entomologist.
