This trip to a raised bog will hopefully get us a sighting of Large Heath butterfly.
An added bonus could be seeing Small Pearl-bordered Fritillaries as well, as they often colonise these sites.
Everyone is to meet at the clock in the centre of Slamannan, at 10.30am.
We will go on to the site from here. (Grid ref. NS856732, nearest post code: FK1 3EJ).
Raised bogs are usually very wet, so please bring suitable footwear. A packed lunch is advisable if you plan to stay until the afternoon.

This event is taking place during Big Butterfly Count, the largest insect citizen science project in the world. Why not download an ID chart and take part in a 15-minute count during the event, which runs from 14 July - 6 August? The results help us see how butterflies are faring across the UK.
