 Lankham Bottom Reserve Open Weekend Friday 9th and  Saturday August 10th

The Reserve is off the minor road from Cattistock to the A37.  Park inside the metal gate at ST 606 004.  Meet at 9am Saturday for opening the moth traps.  Camping facilities are available for anyone who would like to stay overnight. Bring tent, sleeping bag, eating utensils etc and food and drink to share. Further details see Dorset Butterfly Conservation Events Leaflet for details of a barbeque and wildlife walk.

 Milldown, Blandford 11th Sunday August at 9am

It is our intention to run two or three moth traps on the old railway line at Milldown overnight, Saturday night/to Sunday morning, 10/11th August. Butterfly Conservation members, with Dorset CC representation, will run the traps overnight from dusk until dawn the next morning, and then have a public event 9am on Sunday when we will open up the traps for any interested public to see the results of our trapping.

The Milldown is situated on the north-western edge of Blandford on the B3082 between the town centre and the Blandford bypass (A350).  The entrance to the car park is from Milldown Road, B3082, opposite Blandford School.

Note Blandford has a one-way system. Go up Salisbury Street, through traffic lights (Iceland shop on right). Fork left up White Cliff Mill. At next fork, bear left into Milldown Road. Go past Blandford Hospital. The Milldown will be on the right along an avenue of trees, opposite Blandford School.

 Broadcroft Quarry Reserve, Portland Sunday 11th August at 9am

The Reserve is opposite Portland Football Ground SY 696 722. 

From Portland Heights take the road towards Easton and turn left into Grove Road and right opposite football ground to park. Meet Sunday at 9am for opening of moth traps.

 Bournemouth Natural Science Society Sunday August 11th at 9am

BNSS is located at 39 Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH1 3NS. It is not very far from the mainline railway station and situated on the right hand side of the  main road from the Landsdowne heading towards Boscombe (Google bnss for further details).
