Dorset: Guided Walk on Fontmell Down
Sunday 16th August 2015, 11am-3.30pm
Fontmell near Shaftesbury

Join the Dorset and Devon Branches at this joint event to search for Silver-spotted Skipper.

Fontmell is the last Dorset refuge for this butterfly and it offers a great opportunity to study this and other downland specialities like Brown Argus, Chalkhill Blue and the emerging second brood of Adonis Blue.

Please bring stout footwear and a packed lunch if staying for the afternoon visit to the lower slopes.

We meet 11.00 am at the National Trust gate, map reference ST 885 187. Nearest post code: SP5 5AP

There is alternative parking around the triangle at ST 888 185

If you would like to attend or to find our more information, please contact Lawrie de Whalley on 01258 880524

N.B. The B3081 is closed at Melbury Abbas, so if travelling from Shaftesbury, travel either via Ludwell on the A30 or via Fontmell Magna on the A350.
