North Wales - Butterfly Release at Pensychnant

North Wales - Butterfly Release at Pensychnant
Sunday, 22nd Sept. 2013. 2pm
Pensychnant

Ray Sandiford, former chair of Butterfly Conservation (North Wales) has been collecting caterpillars of the Red Admiral and other common ‘nettle’ butterflies from North Wales and rearing them for his own research and for filming for his new DVD. Now at the end of the summer the adult butterflies will be released in the sunshine at Pensychnant to take their chances in the wild.

Ray will talk briefly about his butterfly research, there will be a display of (live) moths, butterfly walks if the weather is good, Pensychnant’s new ‘bee hotel’, Julie Horner’s superb butterfly watercolours, a stall by Friends of the Earth about their Pollinator Action Plan Campaign, and Pensychnant’s celebrated Tea & Cake.
