The annual National Butterfly Recorders’ Meeting provides the latest information on butterfly trends from the national recording and monitoring schemes, new research findings from scientists, feedback from butterfly recorders across the UK and plenty of time to relax and chat over a buffet lunch with fellow enthusiasts.
The day will start with a special meeting of BNM Local Co-ordinators/Branch Recorders.
As usual, there is an exciting line up of talks for the day and participants will get the first preview of the official butterfly population trends for 2013 from the UKBMS transect network.

The meeting takes place at the Birmingham and Midland Institute, close to New Street Station in central Birmingham, on Saturday 22 March 2014 at 11.00 (apart from BNM Local Coordinators /Branch Recorders whose meeting will start at 10.00). Anyone interested in butterflies is welcome; you don't have to be an active recorder. However, we do require advanced booking and there is a (heavily subsidised) fee of £5 per person, made on the day, to help cover the costs of venue hire, tea/coffee and buffet lunch.
If you would like to attend please book a place in advance via firstname.lastname@example.org or 01929 400209 providing your name, address, contact details and any specific dietary requirements.
