Volunteer Work Day in Upper Clun (Postponed from Jan 26th)

Joint initiative of Butterfly Conservation West Midlands Branch and the UCCWG to be led by Nick Williams.

Participants will need to sign in on the Butterfly Conservation forms to be covered by their insurance.

The task is continuing scrub clearance in the middle of the Pant-y-lidan Valley, parking at the small quarry beside the track leading to Rhespass Farm, and walking up the valley from there to the work area (about 20 minutes walk).
The material to be cut is mostly dense Hawthorn, but with plenty of Bramble, Dog Rose and some other saplings, so old clothes and several layers, plus strong boots and gloves are recommended.
The leader will use a chainsaw to cut the larger and denser material, everyone else will be cutting smaller shrubs and saplings, cutting up and dragging material to the fire and feeding it.

The meeting time is 10am at the quarry car park, and expect to finish work and set off down the valley by 3.45pm to get back to the cars by about 4.15pm.
Anyone wishing to come to the workday is asked to let Nick Williams know by emailing him on nw4frits@talktalk.net or phoning 0121 550 9853, so that we have a good idea of numbers.
