A moth night has been held at the end of July for the past several years now. With a number of Mercury Vapour lamps placed in different areas around the Visitors' Centre the 100 plus species trapped have included the beautiful Orange and Tissue Moths, as well as a good variety of Hawk moths and micro moths.
It's a great evening, families are welcome and you can stay for as long, or as little as you like! Experts are on hand for identification of the 'catch'. Come with warm clothing and sturdy footwear - the grass can get quite wet as the evening progresses. A torch is useful too!
We will be setting up the lamps around 9.30pm on Saturday, 26th July 2014 at Chambers Farm Wood Visitors' Centre; grid ref: TF 147739; map OS 121
