To find an event near you just select your branch area (see In Your Area to find the closest branch to you) and then click the Filter button. You can also refine your selection using the Categories on the left-hand panel.
This is a joint event with the Lancashire and Cumbria Branches. We will be looking out for spring species, in particular Pearl-bordered and Small Pearl-bordered Fritillaries, Small Heath, Dingy Skipper and Green Hairstreak butterflies.
Join the Cumbria and Lancashire Branches and Cumbria Wildlife Trust on a gentle climb to see Mountain Ringlet butterflies at their lowest altitude site in Lakeland, with a possible extension after lunch to Eskmeals Dunes.
Join the Lancashire Branch at Heysham Moss Nature Reserve (Lancashire Wildlife Trust), where we will be shown around by Steve Ryder, LWT warden. We hope to see Large Heath and other coastal butterflies.
Join the Cumbria and Lancashire Branches on a field trip where we hope to see Least Minor and White-spotted Sable moths, and Northern Brown Argus and Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary butterflies. We will also be searching for Duke of Burgundy eggs - a magnifying lens will be helpful for this.
