Join the Yorkshire Branch at this reserve in the heart of Shipley train station, between platforms 2, 5 and the car park. This small urban habitat is being colonised by new species of butterflies, such as Ringlet and Speckled Wood, which are extending their ranges northwards.

In August 2012 a solitary Marbled White butterfly was photographed in a field adjoining Shipley station. More have been seen since. This walk is part of a follow-up to the previous sightings, to try and monitor the status of this colony.
A decent ramble of 2–4 hours depending on the interests of those attending and the weather. We would hope to see a good range of summer butterflies, and dragonflies especially at World’s End.
