Help the Devon Branch with habitat management at their Lydford Old Railway Reserve near Okehampton. The main work is to rake up strimmed vegetation on this special reserve that holds Devon’s only population of the nationally rare Heath Fritillary butterfly.
Meet at 10.30am at the National Trust’s Waterfall car park, Grid ref: SX 500 832, nearest postcode EX20 4BL, which lies a mile south-west of the main Lydford Gorge entrance. It is a half mile level walk to the site.
- Rakes and pitchforks will be available
- Bring gardening gloves and lunch
- Cutting tools for small trees may also be useful
