We have three excellent speakers lined up. Come and hear about the variety of Lepidoptera by Stephen Palmer who is an expert on micro-Lepidoptera; Vic Hitchings will take us through his various experiences around the globe looking for butterflies; and Zoe Randle (BC Surveys Officer, NMRS, Butterfly Conservation HQ) will talk about the National Moth Recording Scheme and Wider Countryside Butterfly Survey.

Arrive at 10.30am for tea and coffee.

  • 11am - there will be a brief AGM
  • 11.30am - 'Think Small! Micro Moths and Their Recording' a talk by Stephen Palmer with a fascinating insight into the microscopic world of micro moths
  • 12.30-2pm - Break for Lunch
  • 2pm - 'Around the World in Eighty Butterflies', a talk by Vic Hitchings, to take us on a journey around the world about butterflies Vic has discovered following a career in the oil industry
  • 3pm-3.15pm - Tea and Coffee
  • 3.15pm - 'The National Moth Recording Scheme' a talk by Zoe Randle, BC Surveys Officer, NMRS. Zoe will take us through her work for Butterfly Conservation coordinating this important scheme
  • 4.15pm - Close
