Northern Ireland: Cavehill Big Butterfly Count and Safari
Saturday 15th July 2017, 10am-3pm
Belfast Castle Grounds and Cavehill

Join the Northern Ireland Branch and the Cavehill Conservation Campaign to launch the 2017 Big Butterfly Count.

This is a family-friendly morning exploring the grounds below Belfast Castle, before a slightly more strenuous afternoon with highly skilled and experienced local guide Cormac Hamill, exploring the nooks and crannies of  Cavehill.

We will be looking for Dark Green Fritillary and Grayling butterflies.

Meet at 10am at Belfast Castle car park, Antrim Road, Belfast, Grid ref: J327791.

For more information, please contact the Northern Ireland Branch.

Big Butterfly Count is the largest insect citizen science project in the world. Why not download an ID chart and take part in a 15-minute count during the event, which runs from 14 July - 6 August? The results help us see how butterflies are faring across the UK.
