Rare Sighting of Elusive Female Pale Brindled Beauty

Female Pale Brindled Beauty

Although the Pale Brindled Beauty moth is not uncommon, the flightless females are quite elusive and very rarely seen. So I was excited to find one (pictured) on a holly trunk in my garden near Inverness on 18th March 2014.

Identification was kindly confirmed from my photograph by Roy Leverton.
