First butterfly sightings 2014

Here are 2014's earliest sightings of resident and common migrant butterflies, as reported to Butterfly Conservation.

Three more butterfly species emerged last weekend, with the first sightings of Scotch Argus in Cumbria, Brown Hairstreak in Dorset and, last but not least, Silver-spotted Skipper in Sussex.
