We intend the 'Lincolnshire Gallery' to feature an aspect of Lincolnshire's butterflies or moths using photos taken within the County by our Members. Every few weeks a new subject will be covered. The Gallery this time is: 'Butterfly Highlights for 2014'. There are some very interesting photos here, taken by our Members. Clouded Yellows made a good appearance this year, and Brown Hairstreaks were in abundance! The 'Malachite' was probably an escapee from a nearby Falconry. The 'Scarce or Yellow-legged Tortoiseshell' was acknowledged by BC HQ as a reliable sighting, as others were seen in several Counties on the same days. 'Purple Emperors' were seen by a number of people, and we now know that larvae were released in the Spring in Chambers Farm Wood. We hope you enjoy this 'Gallery'
