Jun 5, 10.30am: SBIC recorders’ day, Clandon Wood Burial Reserve, TQ048512, GU4 7TT: north side of A246, 300m east of A247. Paul Wheeler will be showing moths caught the previous night. You are welcome to join us from trap unveiling or pop in before c. 12.30, as examples of most, if not all, of the moths will be potted. Moths will be shown almost regardless of the weather.
Harry Clarke will be leading a butterfly walk.
Clandon Wood Burial Reserve consists of 31 acres of native wildflower meadows and new woodland, lake and wetland surrounded by hundreds of yards of hedgerows.

Jul 1: Chilworth Gunpowder Mills. Guildford BC ‘nightlife’ event; all are welcome. Start 2100, finish 2300 but we can stay later. Meet at the picnic area at the bottom of Vera’s Path: TQ030475 (2 mins from the main road or 8 mins from West Lodge or Lockner Farm). Please note that parking is limited. There are a few spaces available onsite at West Lodge, Blacksmiths Lane. You will need to be parked up by 2045 so we can close the green gates for the duration of the event. It’s much easier to park in Chilworth village: on road and near station. Access: good footpath from TQ029472 on the A248.

Aug 5: Redhill Memorial Park. Moths and bats: inspect previous night’s catch. Time 1930 to 2045.

Aug 23: Pewley Down. Guildford BC event to which all are welcome (may need booking). Likely start 1945 but TBC. Guildford TQ005490 GU1 3SN: top of Pewley Hill (free street parking). Meet at viewpoint: TQ007489. This is a Guildford Borough Council nightlife event to which Butterfly Conservation and Surrey Moth Group members are welcome. No need to book. Aug 31: Banstead Woods. Moths and bats (night time, look at traps as moths come in.
Start 2000, finish 2115 but we can stay later, at least until 2300.

Sep 1: Riverside Park, Burpham. Guildford BC event to which all are welcome (no need to book). Likely start 1945 but TBC. TQ010526 GU4 7ND, Bowers Lane car park off Clay Lane. Moth trapping will be about 400m away - probably at TQ009521. This is a Guildford Borough Council nightlife event to which Butterfly Conservation and Surrey Moth Group members are welcome. If you also attend the bat walk expect a 2 km walk.

Oct 24: Mere Pond, Walton on the Hill, Tadworth, Surrey KT20: moths and bats (night time, look at traps as moths come in).
