Jun 5, 10.30am: SBIC recorders’ day, Clandon Wood Burial Reserve, TQ048512, GU4 7TT: north side of A246, 300m east of A247. Paul Wheeler will be showing moths caught the previous night. You are welcome to join us from trap unveiling or pop in before c. 12.30, as examples of most, if not all, of the moths will be potted. Moths will be shown almost regardless of the weather.

Clandon Wood Burial Reserve consists of 31 acres of native wildflower meadows and new woodland, lake and wetland surrounded by hundreds of yards of hedgerows.
Jul 1: Chilworth Gunpowder Mills. Guildford BC ‘nightlife’ event; all are welcome. Start 2100, finish 2300 but we can stay later. Meet at the picnic area at the bottom of Vera’s Path: TQ030475 (2 mins from the main road or 8 mins from West Lodge or Lockner Farm). Please note that parking is limited. There are a few spaces available onsite at West Lodge, Blacksmiths Lane. You will need to be parked up by 2045 so we can close the green gates for the duration of the event. It’s much easier to park in Chilworth village: on road and near station. Access: good footpath from TQ029472 on the A248.
Aug 5: Redhill Memorial Park. Moths and bats: inspect previous night’s catch. Time 1930 to 2045.

Moth trapping will be about 400m away - probably at TQ009521. This is a Guildford Borough Council nightlife event to which Butterfly Conservation and Surrey Moth Group members are welcome. If you also attend the bat walk expect a 2 km walk.
