We’ll be creating the peat dams by digging out a small section of the ditch and building up a wall of wet peat which will form a natural barrier to water flow in the ditch.The ditches take vital water resources away from the bog which threatens the specialised flora and fauna that live there.
The work suits all abilities, but you need a steady footing as we will be working on and walking across challenging, uneven and boggy terrain.
Start: 9.00am meet at our Stirling Office (We offer some transport and pick-ups can potentially be arranged at other locations, please get in touch for details).
Finish: 15.00 at Black Moss at about 16.00 at our Stirling Office.
Bring: Water, lunch (hot drink?), wellies or sturdy waterproof walking boots and work clothes - including waterproofs. Be prepared for cold conditions and bring warm hat, fleece etc..and a sense of humour!
