Our annual joint outing with the Belfast Naturalists' Field Club sees us visiting the very best site for Lepidoptera in the country.
Ian Waller will demonstrate how to set up a transect and monitor the butterflies on it. Guidance on butterfly identification will be given and we will walk part of the Bishop Middleham Transect.
Join our Gloucestershire Branch's Bob Smith at this event organised by the Stroud Valleys Project and supported by Adult Education in Gloucestershire. He will show and talk about the moths trapped overnight at the cemetery – last year produced some surprises! There is a £10 charge for the event - advanced booking is required.
Stroud Nature 2016 is bigger and better than ever with events running from June into September. This is the main event, when many conservation groups, artists, photographers and others with an interest in nature - including Butterfly Conservation - have stalls to show visitors what they do. There will be something for everyone.
The walk is flat on an excellent surface, so it will be suitable for everyone. We will begin the tour shortly before the transect training event, so we expect a very lively day at the Butterfly Park.

Our annual Members' Day is an informal chance to meet like-minded butterfly and moth enthusiasts and chat and hear about the wonderful highlights of the season.
The North East England Branch's AGM will be held at the National Trust, Gibside, Rowlands Gill, NE16 6BG.
The AGM will be followed by light refreshments, then members' slides and the annual photo competition.
