A weekend course introducing the identification and natural history of moths and butterflies. This course is part of the University Certificate in Biological Recording, run jointly with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU).

Cambridgeshire And Essex: Focus in on Micro-Moths of Epping Forest

Saturday 9th July 2016, 9.45am-4.00pm

This one-day course is aimed at anyone with an interest in moths and provides an introduction to micro-moths; their identification, natural history and conservation. Although small, many micro-moths are brightly coloured and distinctive, while others are less easy to identify. This course will help you sort out the different groups, and learn how to find and record them.

Stroud Nature 2016 is bigger and better than ever with events running from June into September. Cambridgeshire And Essex: Identifying Butterflies, Moths and Dragonflies

Friday 15th to Monday 18th July 2016, 4.00pm-4.00pm

This popular course will be concentrating on the identification and natural history of butterflies, moths, dragonflies and damselflies. Checking the light traps for moths each morning will be followed by visits to local nature reserves, looking for day-flying species from all the groups. This is a great way of developing your interests, in the company of someone who has drawn and painted virtually all there is to see!

South Wales: Moths of the Pembrokeshire Coast

This course is aimed at anyone who would like to learn more about identifying moths from coastal habitats. It is aimed at total beginners wishing to study these moths, as well as people with more advanced knowledge, but whatever your skill level, it will be designed to stretch you.

Cheshire And Peak: Transect and Survey Training

This course will be based at Juniper Hall, which nestles in a valley of the North Downs close to Box Hill, with a backdrop of woodland and rolling chalk grassland habitats. It is aimed at anyone - total beginners to those with more advanced knowledge - who would like to learn more about identifying moths from chalk and limestone grassland habitats.
