Gardening tips

Butterflies and moths will visit any garden, however small if they can feed from suitable nectar plants. There are likely to be over a hundred species of moth in an ordinary urban back garden, as well as up to 18 species of butterfly. Read our tips to attract these colourful visitors, and even plant to encourage them to breed in your garden, rather than simply to visit.

Volunteer with us

Butterfly Conservation relies on the support of thousands of volunteers, and we are always looking for more help inside the office and in the field. Whether you want to volunteer at a local branch, get outside and help manage our nature reserves or help with one of our events, we have something for everyone to get involved in! Your time can make a real difference.

Fundraising ideas and tips

Butterflies are beautiful and vital to the health of the environment but they are disappearing fast. We need your help to save them. Holding a coffee morning, opening a garden, taking part in a marathon, bungee jumping and being tattooed are just some of the fantastic ways our supporters have raised money for us. We have many ideas, hints and tips if you plan on fundraising for us!
