Egg hunts 2017
The Brown Hairstreak’s sea-urchin eggs on young blackthorn in winter are easier to find
than the thinly-spread adults in late summer – early autumn.
Two-hour egg hunt followed by pub lunch (optional).

- Site along River Mole, no public access, patrolled by airport security.

Meet: lay-by in Larkins Road RH6 0SG, TQ26604119, Google Map Point A
Directions: follow Perimeter Road North to roundabout at Gatwick North Long Stay Parking;
exit left into Cargo Road;
at crossroads, turn right into Larkins Road;
after sharp LH bend, lay-by is 250m on right.
We will drive in convoy to parking place.

Meet: Riddlesdown Common car park, at the end of Riddlesdown Road which leads off the A2022.
Ancient field system with large expanses of Blackthorn.
Eggs were found here last year.
We may be joined by the local Downland group.

Park: one side of Worcester Park Rd or in adjacent side streets.
Medieval field system; Brown Hairstreak hotspot so I am hoping for a good haul of eggs.
We may be joined by Lower Mole Project volunteers.
