East Scotland: Moths And More At Paxton House
Sunday 30th July 2017, 10.30am-12.30pm
Paxton House, Berwickshire, Borders

Join the East Scotland Branch at this family event, where there will be the opportunity to see moths up close, plus fun activities for youngsters...

Starting at 10.30 am from the car park at Paxton House (TD15 1SZ, grid ref NT932520) we'll walk through the grounds to discover the moths attracted to light traps put out the previous night.

If the sun shines we might also see some butterflies on the wing. Some of the paths through the woods are steep.

This will be followed by some moth related craft activities in the education room, finishing around 12.30 pm.

Booking with Paxton House is advisable as places are limited. Children must be accompanied and there is a small charge of £1 per child and £2 per adult. There is a cafe which can provide lunch and refreshments.

This event is taking place during Big Butterfly Count, the largest insect citizen science project in the world. Why not download an ID chart and take part in a 15-minute count during the event, which runs from 14 July - 6 August? The results help us see how butterflies are faring across the UK.
