Following our successful Brown Hairstreak egg hunt here in November 2017, we recommended some protection for regrowing blackthorn suckers, which are currently suffering very badly from deer browsing.
This task involves coppicing hazel, and will include the protection of Blackthorn regrowth to improve habitat for the Brown Hairstreak, and many other butterflies and moths found there.
Please bring stout footwear, a drink and a snack. All tools will be provided
