Butterfly Conservation, the National Trust and University of Exeter are working together to understand what habitat attributes the Lulworth Skipper Butterfly requires. We are conducting experimental management trials on the Purbeck coast and Butterfly Conservation are looking for volunteers to help with ground scarification using pitchforks. The plots have already received one scarification treatment but another is required to break up the ground. The National Trust will provide tools but please bring lunch and a hot drink (the walk to the site is muddy so welly boots or sturdy boots and gaiters might be advisable). We will be on the coast and quite exposed so wrap up warm. If you are able to help between 9.30 am and 3.30 pm please contact Rachel Jones for further details; firstname.lastname@example.org or 01929 406018.
Meet 9.30 am at Spyway car park, Durnford Drove, Langton Matravers, map reference SY 997786, postcode BH19 3HG.
