Work Party Information
Salcey Forest - 2019/20

3rd Sunday of the month, 10am-3pm:
- 15th September
- 20th October
- 17th November
- 15th December
- 19th January
- 16th February

Aimed at both the complete beginner and more experienced conservationists alike, join us for some woodland ride management in Salcey Forest. We would like to maintain and make the habitat more suitable for woodland butterflies, including the Wood White and Black Hairstreak. We will be removing and reducing some of the small scrub and trees alongside the paths with hand tools (bowsaws and loppers), to reduce shading and encourage more nectar and caterpillar food plant species.

Refreshments will be provided for tea/coffee break during the session. Please bring your own packed lunch if you will be staying for the whole day. Please wear stout footwear and suitable clothing for the weather.

Meet: At the ‘horsebox’ car park on Midshires Way, Grid ref. SP810508

You are welcome to come along for as much or as little of this time as suits you, but please let us know if you are coming so that we can bring enough tools and contact you if plans change.
