Butterfly Alert No 2: A very early spring

Butterfly Alert No 2: A very early spring
The last alert brought reports of the two whites and I've just had the
first sightings of Small Copper and Green Hairstreak - a very early spring
indeed - no surprise really given the current weather.

Currently flying are: Large, Small and Green-veined Whites, Brimstone,
Orangetip, Holly Blue, Small Copper, Green Hairstreak,
Painted Lady, Small Tortoiseshell, Red Admiral. Peacock, Comma and

Next up will be Small Heath, and Grizzled and Dingy Skippers

I've had reports of a couple of aberrations: a Small Tort and an orangetip
with one side missing the orange! This heatwave will likely produce more
aberrations, so I expect some more.

As usual all reports gratefully received.
