Northern Ireland: Habitat Management At Bowara
Saturday 10th February 2018, 10.30am-3.00pm
Bowara, Co. Fermanagh

Meet at the Round ‘O’ Quay car park, Enniskillen, BT74 7EU – H227445

This small grassland site, perched on the side of a glen, is home to a number of important butterfly and moth species including the endangered Dingy Skipper butterfly and Wood Tiger moth.

We’ve been monitoring the species and undertaking practical conservation work on this site for a number of years including scrub control. We’ll be continuing this work and also removing some of the grass ‘thatch’ that is threatening the food-plant, Bird’s-foot Trefoil.

All tools are provided, and there will be flasks of hot water, tea, coffee and of course, cake!

Please bring a packed lunch and wear warm, weatherproof clothing and strong boots or wellies. We provide gloves but you may wish to bring your own.

No prior experience is necessary, come and pitch in and help us make a difference for our butterflies and moths, great craic, great company and a great cause!
