Northern Ireland: Ulster Wildlife & Butterfly Conservation – Scrub Clearance At Ballynahone Bog Nature Reserve
Thursday 1st February 2018, 10.30am-3.30pm
Ballynahone Bog Nature Reserve, Maghera

Butterfly Conservation are joining forces with Ulster Wildlife to help manage one of Northern Ireland’s best examples of intact lowland raised bogs at Ballynahone Bog ASSI.

We’ll be removing encroaching scrub from the edges of the bog to conserve the habitat which is important for a range of species including the Large Heath butterfly.

All tools are provided, and there will be flasks of hot water, tea, coffee and of course, cake!

Please bring a packed lunch and wear warm, weatherproof clothing and strong boots or wellies. We provide gloves but you may wish to bring your own.

No prior experience is necessary, come and pitch in and help us make a difference for our butterflies and moths, great craic, great company and a great cause!
