Edinburgh's Holyrood Park is home to many rare species, including the Northern Brown Argus Butterfly and the beautiful Maiden Pink wildflower. One of the best sites for these species is threatened by encroaching gorse, so come along to help us control the gorse!
We'd love it if you could join us on this special volunteer work party. We will be driven close to the site in a van, but the site itself is down a steep, rocky slope and it will require good mobility to reach it. The gorse wil be cut back using loppers and other hand tools, and full training on the use of these will be provided.
Date & Time: Saturday 25th November, 10am - 3pm
Meeting point: Duddingston Car Park (full directions will be given following registration)
Booking: please contact Anthony McCluskey on firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 07730221266 and leave a message.
This work party is a joint event between Butterfly Conservation and Historic Environment Scotland. It is part of the Urban Butterfly Project, a three-year project funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, Scottish Natural Heritage and Butterfly Conservation members.
