Saturday 10th March 2018, 10am-3pm
Holyrood Park, Edinburgh

Edinburgh's Holyrood Park is home to many rare species, including the Northern Brown Argus and Grayling butterflies. One of the best sites for these species is threatened by encroaching gorse, so come along to help us improve the site for butterflies.

We'd love it if you could join us on this volunteer work party where we'll cut the gorse using loppers and hand saws. This site is easily accessed from the paths, and is fairly flat. Full training on the use of the tools will be provided, and the event is suitable for children over 14, but children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.

Date & Time: Saturday 10th March, 10am - 3pm

Meeting point: Duke's Walk car Park (full directions will be given following registration)

Booking: please contact Anthony McCluskey on amccluskey@butterfly-conservation.org or phone 07730221266 and leave a message.

This work party is a joint event between Butterfly Conservation and Historic Environment Scotland. It is part of the Urban Butterfly Project, a three-year project funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, Scottish Natural Heritage and Butterfly Conservation members.
