Auchtermuchty Common is a great place to find butterflies such as Common Blue and Small Copper, which rely on the sunny open areas and rich diversity of wildflowers. Overall, 16 species of butterfly can be seen here! Some areas of wildflowers are threatened by the encroachement of small trees and shrubs which block out the light, and if they were left unmanaged they would cover a large amount of this special place for butterflies.

Volunteers are needed to help with the removal of these trees and shrubs, and we'd love it if you could join us for this special volunteer work party. All training and tools will be provided, and we can pay your travel expenses to attend.

Date and time: Thursday 24th February 2022, 10am-3pm
Location: Auchtermuchty Common north of Auchtermuchty, Fife. Full directions will be given to anyone who registers).
