This important habitat work is focusing on improving habitat for Black Hairstreak Butterflies. Volunteers from the Cambs and Essex Butterfly Conservation Branch alongside Back from the Brink are rejuvenating blackthorn to create new breeding habitat for the butterflies which lay eggs on the young shoots.

The woodland tracks leading to the work area can be very muddy at this time of year so bring suitable footwear such as wellies or sturdy waterproof workbooks and plenty of warm layers to keep out the cold. Hot drinks and biscuits awarded to all who brave the elements in the name of conservation!

Free event but booking required.
