Conservation Work Party to benefit

Small Blue & Dingy Skipper

Glenfeshie (east)

Saturday 30th October

10 – c4pm

Details

We will be removing small regenerating pines from an old quarry to encourage the establishment of Kidney Vetch (KV) and Bird's-foot Trefoil (BFT), the foodplants for Small Blue and Dingy Skipper respectively, by planting KV and BFT plugs and sowing BFT seed.

Directions

We will meet opposite the entrance to the Cairngorm Gliding Club at NH858032. From Feshiebridge, follow the minor road on the east side of Glenfeshie that leads to Achlean. The gliding club is a short way after Lagganlia Outdoor Centre.

What’s needed

It is advisable to wear old clothes and suitable footwear.  If staying all day please bring lunch and a hot drink although you are welcome to join in and leave whenever you want. Every little helps so if you only want to come for an hour you will still be very welcome.  Hand-tools, including the wonderful Tree-poppers, as well as loppers, bowsaws, and gloves will be available, but please bring your own if you have them.
