Sun 3rd July: Ashclyst Forest nr. Exeter 10.30 - 14.30 approx.

We will explore this large area of area of mixed woodland best known at this time of year for the beautiful White Admiral, Silver-washed Fritillary and Scarlet Tiger. Malcolm Jarvis, volunteer with the National Trust at Ashclyst will join us and show us the best places to look for the target species.

Bring lunch.

Meet at 10:30 at the large Forest Gate Car Park SX 999 995.

Directions: Travel in a north-east direction out of Exeter on the B3181. After leaving Broadclyst village continue on the B3181 for just over a mile when you will see a left turn to Killerton House. Ignore this turning but very soon turn right, signed for Ashclyst Forest. Go down the lane for about a mile ignoring 2 left turns and the Forest Gate car park is on the left at SX 999 995.
