At 11am help parade the King of the Flycatchers back to his Dartmoor woodland with colourful artwork made by local school children. The flycatcher is an iconic species for the nature reserve and our Dartmoor woodlands. These birds have flown thousands of miles from West Africa, alongside many other species, to breed here.

11.30am onwards. Discover more about these and other extraordinary wildlife at this wild and wonderful day at East Dartmoor National Nature Reserve. There will be lots of stands and activities to get involved with throughout the day. Visit the Butterfly Conservation stand to learn all about the Pied Flycatchers favourite food or come on a guided walk to try and spot some of the woods rarest butterfly species, the Pearl-bordered Fritillary.

There will be chilled out music, storytelling, and refreshments from 1st Liverton Scouts.

There is a charge of £2 per person payable on the day to take part.
