Sat 11th January: Home Farm Marsh, Fremington 10.30 - 14.30.
Meet in the parking area at Fremington Quay SS 515 332. The turn off for the lane that leads down to the Quay, which runs north from the B 3233 is midway between Muddlebridge and Fremington. The task will be tree field weeding and raking up of cut material around the trees. The work will be directed by Steve Skirth, the warden.
A Joint GAIA Trust and BC task.
For winter events bring lunch, a drink, waterproof clothing, stout footwear/boots and gardening gloves. Bring recommended tools if possible though some are usually available on the day. If severe weather is forecast, check with the leader before travelling as an event could be cancelled.
You are advised to check the online Events pages which will be updated if there are changes to any of the events, or any cancellations.
We are advised that it is important that all volunteers should register with Assemble (Butterfly Conservation’s new online volunteer portal) since this will allow BC to hold your details securely and also means that registered volunteers, be they members or non-members, will be covered by BC’s comprehensive insurance. Full details of Assemble can be found on the BC web site at Assemble - Our New Volunteer Portal | Butterfly Conservation (butterfly-conservation.org).
Any queries about Assemble should be addressed to [email protected] and NOT the work party leader thank you.
