Sat 15th February: Miltor Mator Common near Kingskerswell 10.30 - 14.30.

Meet close to the railway bridge at Dainton SX 854 666. The aim will be to improve habitat opportunities for a range of butterfly and moth species, including grizzled skipper butterflies, emphasis on the control of the growth of rank grass and raking up any material cut by the robo-flail in October last year.

For winter events bring lunch, a drink, waterproof clothing, stout footwear/boots and gardening gloves. Bring recommended tools if possible though some are usually available on the day. If severe weather is forecast, check with the leader before travelling as an event could be cancelled.

You are advised to check the online Events pages which will be updated if there are changes to any of the events, or any cancellations.

We are advised that it is important that all volunteers should register with Assemble (Butterfly Conservation’s new online volunteer portal) since this will allow BC to hold your details securely and also means that registered volunteers, be they members or non-members, will be covered by BC’s comprehensive insurance. Full details of Assemble can be found on the BC web site at Assemble - Our New Volunteer Portal | Butterfly Conservation (butterfly-conservation.org).
Any queries about Assemble should be addressed to [email protected] and NOT the work party leader thank you.
