Join Butterfly Conservation and the Sticklepath and Okehampton Conservation volunteers to help clear encroaching silver birch saplings and gorse to benefit Marsh Fritillary butterfly. We will be using hand tools and we'll have a bonfire to burn up what we cut.
The work party is based at Lower Hurston Farm, a private farm located approximately 10 minutes drive away from Chagford. The parking here is limited and can be tricky to find, so please let Megan know if you plan on attending.
Tools, gloves, refreshments, and guidance will be provided. All are welcome! Please bring your own lunch, waterproofs, and plenty to drink. Wellies are essential for this task as we will be working in the marsh.
This event is led by the All the Moor Butterflies project. In the case of severe weather we may need to cancel. If in any doubt please contact Megan before travelling.
