Join the East Midlands Branch on this butterfly walk, where it's hoped you will see beautiful butterflies like the Green Hairstreak or Wall, as well as a number of other spring species.

Everyone is to meet at 10.00am at the big lay-by at map grid reference SK 199 730 on the single-track road that leaves Great Longstone on the left, just at the RHS bend in the village coming from Monsal Head. The St Crispin pub is just beyond this. If you see this you have gone too far! The nearest post code is DE45 1UA, but this will not get you to the exact meeting place, so please contact the event leaders for more directions if needed.

This easy walk is suitable for anyone, as it covers a very short distance. Please note - there are no conveniences!

Green Hairstreak (underwing) - Tamás Nestor

These events are a great way to learn about butterflies and their habitat, as people will be on hand to help you with identification. There will also be plenty of photographic opportunities.

For more information, or to confirm your attendance, please contact: John & Sylvia Green on: 07760 136 369.

Please check the weather conditions and come suitably prepared. If the weather looks bad enough for the trip to be cancelled, we would ask you to contact the leader before setting off to check whether the trip is on.
