Our East Scotland Branch area is one of the largest in the UK, stretching from The Borders to Aberdeenshire, and taking in all of Perthshire too. It is home to some of our most beautiful butterflies and moths including the beautiful Small Blue butterfly and the elusive Kentish Glory Moth.

We are running a special event to introduce new (and current!) volunteers to the range of volunteer opportunities in the branch area. At this event you'll get an introduction to the branch area and our priority species for conservation and monitoring. You'll also find out how you can get involved in different aspects of our work, including species monitoring, practical conservation work, event delivery and branch roles.

We'll spend the morning indoors at the venue, before going outside in the afternoon to see the habitat used by Grayling butterflies in Holyrood Park. Most importantly, it will be a chance to meet other like-minded people and get to know some of our current volunteers who can help you get involved. Even if you are already volunteering with us, you're still very welcome to attend and contribute!

Location: Holyrood Education Centre, Holyrood Park, Edinburgh
