This will be held at the Ebworth Centre and Rough Bank Reserve.
There will be an indoor session in the morning at The Ebworth centre when Chris Wiltshire and Tricia Atkinson will explain the methodology of transect and Wider Countryside Butterfly Survey (WCBS) butterfly recording. WCBS basically uses the same methodology as standard transects.
There will also be help and advice on butterfly identification. Even though there are only 44 butterfly species in Gloucestershire, some of them look very similar especially in flight!
Afterwards, we will go onto nearby Rough Bank reserve where we do butterfly recording. This is a good opportunity for present recorders to check on methods and any ID difficulties. If you think you might be interested in helping us with recording, then do come along to find out what it is all about and decide if it is for you.
Tea and coffee will be available in the morning but please bring your own lunch.
