Join us at Lenzie Moss near the heart of the town of Lenzie to look for the Green Hairstreak butterfly! This species is mostly found around peat bogs in Scotland, where it lays its eggs on Blaeberry plants. We will likely see other butterflies there too, but the focus will be on showing you this butterfly which is normally hard to find.
This event will be led by volunteer Colin MacClellan, with support from BC staff member Anthony McCluskey. There is a boardwalk at the site which we will use as much as possible, but it may be necessary to walk into slightly more difficult terrain on the peat bog to find the butterfly.
Date and time: Tuesday 7th June 2022, 1pm - 3pm
Location: Lenzie Moss, Lenzie
Booking: Booking is essential. Please book by visiting this link.
This event is part of the Helping Hands for Butterflies project, supported by funds from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and NatureScot. It is being kindly supported by the Friends of Lenzie Moss and East Dunbartonshire Council.
