Join us for a day of practical conservation, where we will be selectively removing encroaching scrub, mainly gorse. This will benefit Common Rock-rose, the sole larval foodplant of the Northern Brown Argus butterfly. The work will also benefit the Pearl-bordered Fritillary.
No previous experience necessary, but you need a steady footing as we will be working and walking across challenging, uneven and boggy terrain. If you have your own gloves feel free to bring them. Tools will be provided as will cake!
We appreciate that not everyone is physically able to work like this. If instead you fancy joining us as the event photographer, or writing a short piece for social media about the day please get in touch. Sorry, no under 18's on this occasion. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring a packed lunch if you plan to stay all day. Meeting point: what3words///garages.blame.spans
Current BC volunteers must sign up via Assemble
New volunteers please get in touch for further information on how to register.
This event is part of the Species on the Edge programme, made possible by funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund
