Join us as we link up with RSPB for a day of practical conservation, where we will be selectively removing encroaching scrub, mainly gorse. This will benefit both kidney vetch and bird’s-foot trefoil, the sole larval foodplants of the small blue and dingy skipper butterflies. On this visit we will be working on the area adjacent to the small blue colony to allow the kidney vetch to spread to the east along the sandbar.

No previous experience necessary, but you need a steady footing as we will be working and walking across challenging, uneven and boggy terrain. If you have your own gloves feel free to bring them. Tools will be provided as will cake!

We appreciate that not everyone is physically able to work like this. If instead you fancy joining us as the event photographer, or writing a short piece for social media about the day please get in touch. All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring a packed lunch if you plan to stay all day. Meeting point: what3words///embraced.applauded.surveyors
