Come and help us launch the 2018 Big Butterfly Count and join us for a host of family activities on our flagship reserve! This year we are also celebrating the launch of Wild In Winchester, Butterfly Conservation's latest education project, by offering free tasters of our activities. Come and hunt for bugs, explore a moth trap, learn how to survey our meadow, take a nature walk or create some wild art, plus take part in the Big Butterfly Count of course! We will also have face painting, badge making, experts and free membership offers!

  • 12:30 – Bug hunting
  • 13:30 – Butterfly walk

Directions: Heading east out of Winchester on the B3404 Alresford Road, keep driving until you see the Magdalen Hill Cemetery. Please park in the gravel car park opposite the entrance. The nearest postcode for this point is SO21 1HE. You will find us at the top of the track which passes between the Cemetery and Moody stonemasons. The reserve is only a mile walk or short bus journey away from Winchester City centre pedestrian access opposite St Swithuns, follow surfaced path heading East to find us.
