Festival of Wildlife Weekend organised by the HMWT in association with Herts Natural History Society and in partnership with Tarmac, takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Panshanger Park, near Hertford.

The free family festival celebrates the rich diversity of wildlife in Hertfordshire and Middlesex and features walks, talks, family activities and conservation demonstrations. They will be joined on the weekend by other local conservation groups, food producers, artists and craftsmen - there's plenty to see and do!

Transport: Nearest station is Hertford north station (Great Northern from London King’s Cross) approx. 1.5km or Hertford east station (Greater Anglia from London Liverpool Street) approx. 3km.

Thieves Lane car park located just off the A414 near Hertford. The nearest postcode is SG14 2WN. Please note that the entrance to the car park is on your left immediately after turning off the A414 at the roundabout onto Thieves Lane. Look out for the white entrance signs!

Information: We will be attending with our Sales Stand and branch events include a Butterfly Walk with Malcolm Hull leading two butterfly walks on Saturday at 11am and 2pm. There will be a Butterfly Talk given by Roger Gibbons on Sunday at 3.30pm.

The butterfly walk is aimed for all ages as an introduction to some of the more common species found on the Big Butterfly Count identification sheet.
