Morning moth trapping at Red Moss of Balerno

The Red Moss Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve is a fantastic site for moths, including some of our most uncommon species, including several rarely recorded elsewhere in Midlothian. Come along to this event to see some of the moths we will catch in moth traps set the night before. Get up close to the moths with plenty of opportunity to take photographs and learn more about them, before they are released back into the bog's habitat.

We'll meet at Threipmuir car park, next to the Red Moss nature reserve for an 8am start. Children must be over 8 years old and accompanied by an adult. No dogs allowed except assistance dogs please as there will be livestock nearby. The venue is accessible by public transport and has disabled access.
