Discover some of the fascinating nocturnal inhabitants and night sky to be seen around Greenmyres Ecobothy. We will use sweet mixtures and bright lights to attract moths, plus bat detectors to locate and identify bats. A local astronomer will be on hand too with a telescope to view the wonders of the night sky (or demonstrate what would otherwise be visible if it is cloudy)!
Event organised in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council Ranger Service, Huntly Development Trust & Bat Conservation Trust.
Please bring: warm/waterproof clothing according to weather, stout footwear, sunglasses/wide-brimmed hat (to shield eyes from bright moth trap light), midge repellent & torch.
All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Please ensure all attending adults book a ticket
Meet: Greenmyres Eco Bothy, Drumblade AB54 6AG (2nd right off Hillhead – Insch road, coming from A96 junction ~ 4 miles S of Huntly)
